Screening

Dianthus can be used to test large numbers of interactions. Typically, a Ligand library of Small Molecules, Peptides, protein constructs, or fragments is tested against one Target protein, for example, a Kinases or receptor. We usually distinguish two types of screenings:

  • Single-Dose Screening: A primary screening for Hit-identification. It provides a simple yes/no answer as to whether ligands interact with the target or not. This helps to determine which ligands are worth a more in-depth investigation.
  • Affinity Screening: Affinity characterization of ligands that showed an interaction in the primary screening. The obtained Dose Response Curve curves are then typically used to rank identified Binders for their Binding Affinity to the target.
