Adsorption

Biological molecules, especially proteins, can easily attach to plastic labware by adsorption. The Dianthus 384-microwell plate is coated to prevent adsorption. However, during sample preparation, a lot of labware that is not coated (pipette tips, for example) is usually used. Adsorption to this material can result in measurement artifacts and false-positive or false-negative results.
