Spectral Shift
Spectral Shift is a highly sensitive method used to characterize a broad range of biomolecular interactions by isothermal spectral shift analysis.
It uses a dedicated dual-emission optical system that allows, instead of measuring the full emission spectrum, simultaneous recording of the fluorescence at only two preselected wavelengths with photon-multiplier-tubes, which greatly enhances sensitivity.
Furthermore, the method does not require site-specific labeling or conformational changes of the target molecule upon binding and only uses a few microliters of sample at low nanomolar concentration per data point.
