How to use the solvent manager
The solvent viscosity has to be specified for each sample before any dynamic light scattering measurement with Prometheus Panta. Prometheus Panta.
Only solvents (along with their viscosity) that are available in PR.Panta Control's solvent database can be selected. The database contains a short list of pre-defined solvents, but the solvent manager allows the addition of custom solvents and viscosities to the database, as well as the ability to edit them afterwards.
Open the solvent manager dialogue via above the data table when setting up a measurement in PR.Panta Control. Note that features associated with scattering measurements are only visible for measurement types supporting DLS and with Dynamic Light Scattering set to ON.
Add solvents by entering a name and the viscosity at 20 °C (in mPa s) in the Add Solvent dialogue. If the solvent viscosity is unknown, either calculate it using the viscosity calculator or determine it experimentally.
All custom solvents can be edited or deleted later via the Edit Solvent dialogue within the solvent manager.
The solvent database is stored in a separate folder. To create a copy or backup of the database navigate to %appdata%\PR.Panta.Control\BufferStorage
The solvent manager is currently only available in PR.Panta Control and not in PR.Panta Analysis.
Please refer to the video below for a demonstration on using the solvent manager to design a custom solvent.
